Del was born in Raleigh, NC on February 18th, 2001 and tragically lost his life on September 25th, 2021 as a result of a car accident. Del had the ability to light up any room upon entering. He was full of life, joy, kindness, acceptance, and intelligence. The oldest of four children, Del was an amazing sibling to Caroline, Campbell, and Rooks. Growing up in Charlotte, NC, he attended Lansdowne ES, McClintock MS, and East Mecklenburg HS, where he graduated second in his class. He developed close friendships that he maintained throughout his childhood and into college; he valued the time spent with his friends. His church played an important role in his life and he was actively involved in the Sardis Presbyterian Youth Group. In his spare time, he loved playing disc golf and the board game Catan. Priceless memories were made every summer at Wrightsville Beach where he loved spending time with his extended family, especially his cousins. Hours were spent playing games, riding waves, and looking for shark teeth. He was a junior at Davidson College at the time of his death, majoring in Religious Studies. He was passionate about his major and could talk and debate for hours about the different religions. Del was well loved and well respected amongst his vast circle of family and friends.
